Thank you to each of you who took the time to attend Wednesday’s (November 25th) community meeting for this proposal. The meeting was recorded, so if you were unable to attend, you can watch it by accessing this link and emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or comments.
I hope this letter finds you and your family well as we navigate these very challenging times. While much of the world has been put on hold, the development review and approval process has been pushed forward by the provincial government and we are faced with making an important decision for the future of our Yonge & St. Clair community.
In early 2019, city planning staff and I hosted a public consultation meeting at Yorkminster Baptist Church in which I heard many valid concerns expressed by the community I have met with the Deer Park Residents’ Group and other local stakeholders to review the development application, identify local concerns that the City may have missed, and have been working closely with all parties to make improvements. This application has undergone a number of revisions since we first met and the City Planning Department has advised me that they will be recommending City Council approve the application in December.
Given the community’s initial opposition to these proposals, as your representative, I do not believe I have clear mandate on behalf of the community to support City Planning’s recommendation until I had an opportunity to consult with you. I will be holding an online meeting to share proposals and listen to your feedback.
