Thank you to each of you who took the time to attend Wednesday’s (September 23rd) community meeting for this proposal. The meeting was recorded, so if you were unable to attend, you can watch it by accessing this link and emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or comments.
I hope this letter finds you and your family well as we navigate these very challenging times. As you may know, the City has been phasing in its operations over the past months and development files have started coming back onto our agenda. I want to invite you to a public meeting regarding the redevelopment proposal for 155 Wychwood Avenue that will be coming to the Committee of Adjustment in the coming months.
The proposal is for a 29-unit, 8-storey mixed-use building containing 250 square metres of commercial space on the ground level, and 2 levels of underground parking with a total of 22 parking spaces. The owner of the property had reached out to my office and the City last year, which led me to convene a working group of local community members after our initial community meeting back in May 2019. This review process with the working group aims to ensure that this development is to the benefit of the community and in line with the neighbourhood. The working group met in July and August of last year and provided extensive feedback about the application and concerns about its impact on the community, which the developer took to review and address since.
Much of the input from the community working group has been given serious thought and investigation, including a request for a transportation impact study. You can find more detail about the application on the City’s Application Information Centre under this link. This includes a number of detailed technical drawings and the transportation impact study, among other reports required by the City. City Planning and other relevant City divisions are currently reviewing the proposal for additional comment.
I understand that not everyone will be able to attend this meeting. Therefore, we will be recording the presentation and panel discussion which I will post on my website on this page. An important note for anyone who is attending and is concerned about privacy, the format will not show any of the attendees, only your voice will be recorded if you wish to ask a question or make a comment. If you are not comfortable with participating in this format, you are welcome to observe the meeting and contact my office directly.
If you have any further feedback or questions on this process, feel welcome to email my office directly at Councillor_Matlow@toronto.ca or reach out to the City Planner on this file, Carla Tsang at Carla.Tsang@toronto.ca.
