This week Councillor Josh Matlow is joined in studio by Councillors Pam McConnell and Cesar Palacio. In hour 1, they start by discussing the aftermath of Occupy TO. Councillor and TTC Chair Karen Stintz calls in to talk about the announced service cuts and fare increase, following which is John Campbell from Waterfront Toronto, to discuss the progress in the Toronto Portlands. They close out the hour talking about the future for St James park, and the proposal to allow chickens in Toronto yards.
In hour 2, Councillors Matlow, Palacio, and McConnell open by speaking with Toronto Ombudsman Fiona Crean, highlighting the issues with Toronto Children’s Services. The councillors then tackle some of the budget issues, including waste & water, and overflow recycling. Environment days are next, talking about expanding or reducing them, and proposed cuts at the city’s libraries. Mayor Ford calls in to wish Councillor Matlow a happy birthday, and to close the show the Councillors discuss the upcoming budget votes, and what the bottom line for what needs to be done.
