1996-2000 and 2010-2016 Bathurst Construction Management Plan Meeting

1996-2000 and 2010-2016 Bathurst Construction Management Plan Meeting2021-02-24T17:17:52+00:00

Thank you for joining me for a public meeting on January 28th,, to discuss the Construction Management Plan for 1996-2000 and 2010-12 Bathurst St.

Please click here to review a copy of the presentation and draft construction schedule. Always feel very welcome to contact my office at councillor_matlow@toronto.ca should you have any further questions.

Unfortunately, the WebEx system that the City uses for public meetings crashed and the recording did not take. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you have any specific questions, my staff are more than happy to share any information or chat with you over the phone to clarify any questions you may have. Aside from the presentation by the two developer’s that is already posted on here, these are topics that had been discussed in the Q&A portion of the meeting:

  • Coordination between the various sites and Metrolinx and ensuring truck traffic is tightly controlled and monitored
  • Whether there are any anticipated utility disruptions to the community – none are anticipated
  • Ensuring access for emergency services via the laneway going north-south and accesses to all the businesses and residential properties that use that laneway as access points
  • Questions about continued closure of Peveril Hill N – no specific answers at the time of the meeting, as Metrolinx/Crosslinx controls the area still

I have recently heard back from the developer that will be redeveloping the current site at 875 Eglinton/2020 Bathurst, where the future LRT station entrance will be. They anticipate that their construction work will start later this summer,  but the impacts from their work will be relatively minor on the area south of the site, as they are planning to take over the existing Metrolinx working zone. This would mean that for Peveril, there would be no practical change as the trucks entering that site would be using Eglinton Avenue exclusively. Metrolinx is actually already conducting the demolition on their site as we speak, as the LRT station will be directly connected to this building. Once that is completed, we are expecting the developer to take over the site.
