One of the most important things you can do to help end this pandemic is to be vaccinated. This will not only keep you safe, but your family, friends and neighbours, too. Vaccination is underway for  the Province’s vaccination program. Details about who is eligible and the status of completed vaccinations  for Ontario is on the Province’s website. I’ve heard from many of you that the Province’s vaccine roll-out has been confusing and it’s been hard to understand exactly when one is eligible. This is why I’ve decided to create a “one-stop shop” for our Toronto-St.Paul’s community to provide you with all relevant information available to us.

  • Individuals 18+_are now eligible to book their booster dose appointment,  168 days after their second dose (approx. six months). Appointment bookings will be available through City-run clinics, Indigenous-led vaccination clinics, hospital and community clinics, select pharmacies and primary care settings.
  • COVID-19 vaccine appointments for children 5-11 years old are available to be booked on the Provincial system Opens in new window
  • All Toronto residents aged 12 and over are now eligible to be receive a first dose and an accelerated second dose at city immunization clinics by booking through the Provincial vaccine portal. NOTE: Residents 12-15 will need to be accompanied by a family member to their vaccination appointment. 
  • If you are a homebound person who does not have a Primary Care Provider, Family Health Team, Home or Community Care or Community Support Services, please contact the Toronto Seniors Helpline. The Toronto Seniors Helpline will be available to support homebound people who are 18-65 years old, as well as seniors. They can be contacted at 416-217-2077 or by web chat following instruction at https://torontoseniorshelpline.ca/web-chat/

Learn more about who is currently eligible to book at City immunization clinics and at hospital immunization clinics or pharmacies. A list of non-city run clinics in Toronto-St. Paul’s can be found below, including the Shoppers Drug Mart at 2345 Yonge Street which is open for innoculations 24 hours.

Rogers and Bell Media has announced that they will not be charging minutes used when calling official government vaccine booking lines. All calls are free of charge!

Please note: if you are eligible to receive a vaccine, you do not need to be a Canadian citizen or have a Ontario health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card. If you do not have an OHIP card, you can register using another form of government issued ID from any jurisdiction or country, even if expired. If you require assistance booking without an OHIP card, please contact the FCJ Refugee Centre at 416-469-9754 or vaccine@fcjrefugeecentre.org.

Book a Ride to and from Your Vaccination Appointment:

  1. Book your vaccination appointment at a clinic locationthat is in your area of the city.
  2. Contact the transportation program in your area to arrange for a ride to and from your appointment. Appointments should be booked no later than 48 hours before your appointment time. Availability is limited and rides are not guaranteed.
  • If you live in north Toronto, visit iRide or call 1-844-474-3301. iRide boundaries for vaccine clinics are:
    • John St. to the north
    • Clair Ave West to the south
    • Dufferin St./Allen to the west
    • Don Valley Parkway to the east.
  • If you live in central Toronto or Etobicoke, visit Toronto Ride or call 416-481-5250.Toronto Ride boundaries for vaccine clinics are:
    • highway 401 to the north
    • the Lake to the south
    • Etobicoke Creek / Highway 427 to the west
    • Victoria Park to the east.
    • areas within Etobicoke that are outside the above listed boundaries

A support person or family member can accompany you on the ride, if needed.

Note that transportation vehicles are not accessible and clients should be able to step into the vehicles (with assistance). There will be approximately one hour between drop off at the vaccination clinic and pick up after the appointment.

Transportation is delivered through a collaborative network of City and Ministry of Health funded community not-for-profit agencies that provide rides to vaccination clinics such as City-run immunization clinics, hospitals or pharmacies.

OSDP and Ontario Works

People who receive social assistance may be eligible for medical transportation funds to help cover costs of travel to receive their COVID-19 vaccination. Social assistance recipients should contact their caseworker to access transportation funds they may be eligible for.

Uber Canada and TTC Support

Uber Canada has made a generous donation of voucher codes for individual rides.

Starting April 6, these vouchers will be distributed to a network of partner community organizations to provide to people who have no transportation options, live in communities with high rates of COVID-19, who have challenges travelling to be vaccinated, as well as for some people with disabilities. Uber Canada vouchers are limited and are not guaranteed.

The TTC is working with the City to distribute 15,000 TTC ride vouchers through a network of partner community agencies across Toronto to provide to people who cannot afford transit fare, with no-cost rides to and from vaccination sites starting in April.

Wheel-Trans Rides to City Immunization Clinics

Existing Wheel-Trans customers can book rides to and from their vaccine appointments by calling Wheel-Trans Reservations at 416-393-4222, seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. or online at the Wheel-Trans Self-Booking .

Customers who qualify for Wheel-Trans service, and would like to arrange a trip to and from their vaccination, can apply by calling Wheel-Trans Customer Service at 416-393-4111, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wheel-trans will be reaching out to its approximately 26,000 customers regarding this initiative via email blast, a bulletin on its booking website and a recorded message on its Customer Service line.

  • If you are a homebound person receiving care through a Primary Care Provider, Family Health Team, Home or Community Care or Community Support Services or Agencies, please contact your provider to learn whether they are able to offer in-home vaccination. Many teams are beginning to organize or being supported to offer in-home vaccination and will begin to reach out to their patients and/or clients in the coming weeks. If your provider is not able to offer at-home vaccination, they will place your name onto a list for at-home vaccination.

The City of Toronto has created a Family Wellbeing Plan which helps to support those that may be experiencing domestic violence and/or child abuse during this time. The best resource for services and supports is the City of Toronto Webpage, which can be found here: https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/health-wellness-care/health-programs-advice/violence-at-home/.

On this page you will be able to find a few things:

  1. Agencies that are available 24/7 (and virtually) that can support those experiencing intimate partner violence or child abuse. It lists all of their contact information as well as links to their respective organization’s website
  2. Links to resources around legal support, housing, shelter, mental health, and financial support for those that are leaving their abusive situation
  3. Information and strategies for how to identify if intimate partner violence is taking place, safety tips, and ways you can support if you know someone that is experiencing abuse.
