Coun. Josh Matlow is wondering why his motion to have staff report on creating a list of heritage properties, which was approved by council back in 2015, still hasn’t been addressed. (CBC)
Councillor Matlow put a motion forward in 2015 with regards to the city’s heritage properties – specifically requesting an inventory of heritage properties. Since then, three additional motions of a similar nature have been filed. The city has yet to respond to these motions.
The motion from 2015 asked the city planning department to report on the feasibility of amending the Ontario Heritage Act with the intent of listing properties with “potential heritage value and qualify those properties for a 60-day demolition permit delay in order that Historic [sic] Preservation Services staff can further evaluate the property and explore options.”
