Thank you for signing the petition to help Save Our Subway. Here are some other ways that you can help advocate for keeping the subway network in the hands of Torontonians.
Please remember to share the petition with friends, family, and neighbours:
Please Write To Council:
On February 26th, I moved a motion with Councillor Joe Cressy to ensure that Torontonians know the facts about the proposed subway upload. Council will be discussing and voting on the motion this Wednesday. Please click this link to tell Council that Torontonians deserve to know the truth about the potential risks involved with the province stealing our subway, including:
- Nothing is actually stopping the Province from building transit in Toronto right now. Uploading the existing subway does not affect the Ford government’s ability to construct and own new lines or extensions. In fact, the Province is currently building, and will own, the Eglinton Crosstown.
- The Province would gain control of lucrative air rights above stations and adjacent properties, owned and paid for by Torontonians.
- The Province would have complete control of rapid transit planning. Their stated priorities include building subways to Pickering, and other projects that put politics before people.
