Councillors Proclaim Tuesday March 3rd, “Shop Eglinton Day”
Ontario’s Minister of Transportation, Caroline Mulroney, invited to join Councillors, business owners, BIAs and local residents for lunch on
Toronto, ON- Councillors Josh Matlow and Mike Colle will be holding a press conference tomorrow at 11:00am at Jerusalem Restaurant (955 Eglinton Ave. W.), to proclaim Tuesday March 3rd, “Shop Eglinton Day”.
The Councillors have invited Ontario’s Minister of Transportation, Caroline Mulroney, to join local residents, business owners and BIAs to have lunch at Jerusalem Restaurant. Following this, a shop and walk along Eglinton Avenue West will take place to visit the small business owners impacted by the Province’s Crosstown LRT project and learn about the support they need to survive the two year delay announced by Metrolinx.
To kick-off the week, a special lunch deal will be offered on March 3rd, at Jerusalem Restaurant and Celebrity Pure Vegetarian (1474 Eglinton Ave. W.). The shop and walk will begin at Jerusalem Restaurant and continue west along Eglinton Avenue, with an additional stop at Celebrity Pure Vegetarian, before ending at Oakwood Avenue. This will include several photo opportunities of the challenges businesses are facing.

“We are inviting Minister Mulroney to join us on Eglinton to learn firsthand about the challenges business owners are facing and what support they need during the Provinces’ Metrolinx LRT construction” said Councillor Josh Matlow. “We want the small businesses on Eglinton to survive long enough to enjoy the benefits improved transit will eventually deliver.”
“We are looking for the Minister to join the City in helping small businesses on Eglinton as they face construction challenges,” said Councillor Colle.
